02.22.09Neither the site or the blog are active. Material on the site remains as sort of an "archive" at this point, even though most of the material is now dated. The wonderful art by Rick Berry is reason enough to keep it online for now.
The blog was using a very early version of Wordpress that may have been causing some server problems for me. When I started looking over the material on it, I realized there wasn't anything really worth the effort of saving.

Even though the DarkEcho Newsletter has been defunct for many years, people still seem to remember it fondly. I truly appreciate that. But I also hope folks realize catch up with what I do these days.
As for the content on the site:
- DarkEcho Version 4.0 emphasized science fiction and fantasy. Launched in October 2005 and last updated in September 2005, it contains original content, re-published reviews and interviews from CFQ magazine, Fantasy Magazine, and "Waves of Fear" column from Cemetery Dance magazine.
- DarkEcho 3.0 (re-designed and re-launched 1 May 2002) focuses primarily on horror and dark fantasy. It incorporates content from several sources including all of the content of DarkEcho OMNI Horror, originally produced (1996-1998) for pioneering professional Web publication OMNI Online; Universal Studios' HorrorOnline (monthly, October 1998 through the spring of 2001); Spook magazine; the "Waves of Fear" column; the DarkEcho Horror site (established 1995) that was produced in support of DarkEcho, a weekly email newsletter for horror writers and others, and from the newsletter itself. Further original material from writers Colleen Crary, Hank Wagner, Justin Norton, Fiona Webster, John Grant, M. Christian, and Thomas Roche is also included.
